Agata Surma is a Polish-American visual and performing artist, who spent the
last 6 years creating and promoting the arts in Panama. With a Masters
degree in International Development, she worked on urban poverty
and conflicts around natural resources in the US, England and Africa. In 2010
she started a community development art project with Guna Indians
near Panama City. Agata's works portray women venturing into that space
between life and death, a dreamlike state of suspension, where everything is
in the realm of possibility. She held numerous exhibitions of her paintings in
Panama, US, France and Poland.
